Keenan and Sanders Architects Ltd. is a RIBA Chartered architectural practice based in West Yorkshire. Most of our work is in the residential sector with social and specialist housing being our focus.

The firm was established by Janet Keenan and Christian Sanders who worked alongside each other for 20 years at the architectural practice West and Machell Ltd.

We pride ourselves that much of our business is from repeat clients, for we always go that extra mile with a genuine enthusiasm for the projects we deliver. We offer a Director led approach ensuring that there is a continuous thread throughout the life of the project.

Directors

Janet Keenan

BA(Hons) DipArch RIBA

Janet gained her Post Graduate Diploma in 1997 from Leeds Beckett University. After joining Bowman Riley Architects, Janet completed her professional qualifications to become a registered architect in 2000.

In 2001 Janet joined West and Machell as a Project Architect and rose to associate in 2004 and Director in 2006. During her time at West and Machell Janet became an expert in social housing, in particular specialist housing for the elderly. She has delivered many successful projects from inception through to completion.

In 2021 Janet co-founded Keenan and Sanders Architects Ltd.

Christian Sanders

BA DipArch RIBA

After graduating from the University of Huddersfield, Christian joined West and Machell in 1992 as a Part III student. He completed his professional qualifications to become a registered architect in 1993, then steadily rose through the firm to become a Director in 2005.

During his time at West and Machell, Christian became an expert in student, social, and the masterplanning of large-scale, housing developments. Christian is an advocate of Computer-Aided Design, which he uses as a tool to present ideas in a persuasive manner. This has led to a proven track record of securing planning on challenging sites.

In 2021 Christian co-founded Keenan and Sanders Architects Ltd.
